Advantages of Isolators & RABS with E+E Sensors
During sterilisation and filling operations, airflow, pressure and temperature can change rapidly as valves actuate or chamber pressure is equalised. E+E’s high-performance sensing elements respond within seconds, ensuring accurate control and continuous monitoring even during these dynamic transitions. Fast humidity and air-velocity response stabilises the environment more quickly, prevents deviations from GMP Grade A conditions, and maintains the required sterility assurance level. This responsiveness supports consistent process quality and helps shorten requalification times.

RABS and isolator systems are exposed to regular hydrogen peroxide vapour (VHP) cycles, alcohol-based cleaning, and other sterilisation methods. These chemicals can degrade sensitive sensor components and cause measurement drift. E+E sensors are designed for lasting reliability in precisely these environments. Stainless-steel housings resist corrosion and support hygienic design requirements, while catalytic H₂O₂ filter caps or protective layers safeguard sensing elements by breaking down reactive peroxide molecules before they reach the sensor surface. The Automatic ReCovery function (ARC) further maintains element stability after solvent exposure by removing molecular contamination during regeneration phases. Together, these features ensure long-term accuracy and repeatability, keeping relative humidity, air-velocity, and differential-pressure control reliable—even after hundreds of sterilisation cycles.

In addition to the standard ISO factory calibration, E+E sensors can be calibrated in the company’s EN ISO/IEC 17025-accredited, in-house laboratory, traceable to national metrology institutes (NMI). Each unit ships with complete, traceable calibration data supporting GMP, FDA and ISO 14644 compliance. This ensures every sensor operates within defined tolerances and reduces uncertainty during qualification. For simplified annual verification, E+E offers field-calibration solutions such as the Omniport 40 portable reference meter, with ISO/IEC 17025-accredited certificate available. Differential-pressure devices include auto-zero functionality to automatically compensate for zero drift. These features enable quick, on-site accuracy checks without removing the sensor reducing downtime while preserving validated measurement integrity.

Operators and validation engineers benefit from immediate, at-a-glance visual confirmation of process stability. The EE680 air-velocity sensor features an integrated status LED ring that displays airflow intensity and status in real-time. This optical feedback enables quick checks during operation and qualification—without additional instrumentation—improving transparency across critical production steps.
