Karl currently works as a Team Leader in the Market Expertise department.
Karl has been part of the E+E Elektronik family for more than 30 years. He began his journey in production control, including logistics, warehousing, and shipping. Over the years, he has steadily progressed – through roles in internal sales, marketing, and field service – eventually taking on international customer and distributor support. Today, he leads the Market Expertise team, which focuses on analysing customer needs and identifying new market potential.
Karl, what does a typical workday at E+E look like for you?
No two days are the same – and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting!
My top 3 tasks:
- Analysing customer applications and requirements
- Deriving suitable recommendations for action and market potential analyses
- Advising and supporting our sales colleagues and customers
I conduct customer interviews, evaluate visit reports, coordinate closely with the sales team, deliver training sessions, and support marketing campaigns – especially when it comes to showcasing our unique selling points. Together with product management, I define requirement specifications and pinpoint customer needs. I regularly attend international meetings and trade fairs to exchange ideas with customers and partners from around the world – the global spirit is truly a highlight for me.
What makes your job special to you personally?
This position is unique – it offers an enormous learning opportunity. I broaden my knowledge daily across a wide range of applications and industries. This knowledge forms a valuable foundation that E+E can always draw upon. I love the variety: my job doesn’t just take place at a desk – I also visit customers on-site and gain fascinating insights into their production processes. I find it especially fulfilling when our technology creates real added value – for the customer and for the environment: for instance, through increased energy efficiency or reduced CO₂ emissions. In this way, we make a tangible contribution to sustainability.
What are the TOP-skills you need to do this job well?
You should be articulate, open-minded, and genuinely interested in technology, customer applications, and industrial processes. You also need a degree of perseverance and shouldn’t lose faith in success even during challenging times. A willingness to learn and a desire for personal development are particularly important in this role. Quick comprehension and a friendly, engaging manner are also key, as you’ll be in regular contact with customers and must understand and translate their needs effectively.
What do you particularly like about working at E+E?
I’ve been here for over three decades – and with good reason.
I appreciate the location in a green, peaceful setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and the fantastic working environment. Even as a child, I wanted to work here – E+E always struck me as a fascinating and exciting employer. What do I especially like? The modern infrastructure, the team spirit, the pleasant atmosphere – and not least the valuable employee benefits. One example: being able to borrow the company minibus for private transport when needed – it’s a great reflection of how much the company values its employees.
