Time to Retire – Thank You, Renato!

Focus on Employees
Renato Vera has been with us since 2001 and joined the company as a career changer.
Now, he's heading into a well-deserved retirement. Time to reflect:
Renato began his journey in sensor production and, alongside his job, completed a degree in electrical engineering. After some time, he transitioned to the pre-development department as a technician, where he is still working until his retirement in June 2025. Renato approaches his work with passion and gives his best every day to ensure our products are delivered with high quality and durability. Born in Chile, Renato is a passionate athlete and hobby mechanic. He was a driving force behind the development of sports activities at E+E and even founded the E+E volleyball group.
Renato, how did you experience your time at E+E?
I found my time at E+E Elektronik to be very positive and fulfilling. I particularly value the friendships that developed over the years and the company’s open culture. The work gave me many opportunities for personal and professional growth. I experienced a lot during my time at E+E. There were often turbulent times, but communication with everyone in the company was always good. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved – especially since the language barrier made things difficult at first. But I always felt supported, settled in well, and had a great time up until my retirement.
What do you like most about E+E? What makes E+E the right employer for you?
What I appreciate most at E+E Elektronik is the open and friendly working atmosphere. I enjoy the company events like the summer and Christmas parties, and the sports activities, which provide a chance to connect with colleagues from all levels on a more personal level. There is a strong sense of community, an open culture, and a good sense of humor. People work together as equals, and everyone is respected and valued – across all departments and hierarchy levels.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
My typical workday starts early, between 6 and 7 a.m. I first check the measurements and systems in the lab to make sure everything is functioning properly. A key part of my job is conducting product audits and inspecting production components in detail. I document all results and analyze any issues. Flexibility is important, as I often have to respond to unexpected events. I’m also involved in maintaining and monitoring long-term tests and assist external customers in analyzing oil samples. My work requires precision and patience to ensure product quality.
What are the top skills needed to do your job well?
To do this job well, the following skills are important:
- Technical knowledge: Especially in measurement and electrical engineering
- Patience and precision: Since the work often involves detailed measurements and long-term testing
- Flexibility: To react quickly to unexpected issues
- Teamwork: Good collaboration with colleagues is essential

What will you miss about E+E? And what are your plans for retirement?
I’ll miss the professional challenges and the opportunity to continuously grow. Working at E+E Elektronik allowed me to use and develop my technical skills, which has always been very important to me. But most of all, I’ll miss the community and friendships at E+E. I really appreciated the open and friendly atmosphere and the sports activities with colleagues. Regular sporting events like volleyball, running, and mountain biking brought me a lot of joy and helped me form strong bonds with my coworkers.
In retirement, I plan to travel a lot – especially back to my home country, Chile. But I’ll also explore Europe in a 1983 Ford Transit that I repaired and restored myself. I’ll continue to pursue my sports hobbies and, if time allows between travels, I’ll stay active in the E+E volleyball group.
