Advantages of AVS701 with E+E Sensors
Thanks to a specially developed alignment crimp for the remote probe of the AVS701, the sensor can be optimally aligned to the flow direction using the included alignment tool. This precise positioning reduces unnecessary errors caused by improper installation and ensures accurate measurement results. This minimises the need for corrections and speeds up commissioning, which significantly increases efficiency.

In addition to the standardized flow, the AVS701 also captures the operating flow. Temperature changes are continuously accounted for via the integrated temperature measurement. With dynamic pressure changes, an external pressure sensor can be connected to the Sensor Control Port (SCP) for automated correction. For the customer, this results in consistently high accuracy without manual adjustments. This is particularly advantageous in applications with fluctuating pressure conditions. As a result, the time and effort required for corrections are significantly reduced.

The AVS701 impresses with an exceptional measurement accuracy of ±1 % of the measured value, and even ±0.03 m/s in the range of 0–2 m/s. This precision ensures high process reliability, which is particularly crucial in sensitive applications such as cleanrooms and pharmaceutical production. The highly accurate monitoring of air velocity optimises product quality and reduces scrap. Process changes can be detected more reliably and prevented at an early stage. In addition, the long-term stability of the AVS701 minimizes maintenance intervals. E+E Elektronik calibrates the sensors in its in-house calibration laboratory to the highest standards.
Calibration certificate according to ISO/IEC 17025 – AVS701 ensures highest measurement accuracy for maximum process reliability.
The AVS701 is equipped with a robust thin-film ceramic sensing element protected by a durable stainless steel probe head. A specialized coating on the sensor element makes it highly resistant to moisture and corrosive exposure, such as hydrogen peroxide or ammonia. This makes the sensor particularly suitable for applications in highly demanding environments, such as in the pharmaceutical sector or the chemical industry. In long-term ammonia exposure tests, all conventional sensors failed within an average of 440 hours, showing significant corrosion and electrical malfunction. In contrast, the AVS701 remained fully functional after more than 1,000 hours of testing, with no corrosion and stable sensor data.
The calculated mean-time-to-failure (MTTF) highlights the difference:
MTTF Conventional sensors: 440 hours
MTTF AVS701 sensors: 9,400 hours
This demonstrates that the AVS701 lasts about 20 times longer than conventional solutions under corrosive conditions, ensuring uninterrupted operation, lower maintenance effort, and significantly reduced lifecycle costs. Additionally, two analog outputs, an RS485 interface, and a USB-C interface provide maximum flexibility for data transmission and software configuration.

The AVS701 is equipped with a flexible process gas library that automatically enables gas-specific corrections. This feature adapts measurements to the properties of the respective process gas, minimizing errors and ensuring high accuracy – even with changing gases such as CO2 or Argon. The appropriate gas can be quickly selected via the control interface, making the sensor immediately ready for operation. This leads to significant time savings and process reliability, as precise parameterization is performed automatically and sources of error are reduced. The intelligent gas adjustment ensures simple and efficient process control.
